The PowerLine PowerCup 200/400 Watt Mobile Inverter with USB Power Port 90309 is an interesting little gadget that can keep your laptop, iPod, Kindle or other appliance fully topped up with charge whilst on the go. It’s unique coffee cup design means it fits snugly in any cup holder as well as looking pretty cool.
The PowerLine PowerCup 200/400 Watt Mobile Inverter provides, as the product name suggests, 200 watts of continuous power with a 400 watt peak. Plug it into any 12V power socket and you can power your gadgets using the single USB port or one of the two AC outlets.
Whichever ports you use on the PowerCup you’ll find it is a very tight fit when plugging appliances in. You have to use quite a lot of force to make the connection but it actually turns out to be an advantage as it’s difficult to accidently disconnect anything.
Whilst it’s helpful that there are two AC outlets, they are quite close together, so if your devices use anything larger than a standard plug then you’ll only be able to use one at a time. The cord from the PowerCup to the 12V socket is also quite short which limits where you can put it, worth bearing in mind.
Apart from these minor design niggles the PowerCup works great and charges devices quickly- an ideal gadget for when you go camping, or on a road trip, but still want to have your creature comforts close at hand.
